Kitchen Cabinet Install Part 2

Today marks the end of the kitchen cabinet install drama (started here!) and the beginning of the end of this project! Once the damaged cabinets finally came in for the third time in okay enough shape to install them, things started moving a little bit faster 🙂

Like the uppers! And the fact that we finally have them! The hood vent caused lots of problems for us when it kept coming in broken or cracked, and unfortunately held up a lot of the project. Lucky for our budget (ha!), while I was twirling my thumbs waiting for them to come in, my brain was also thinking of ways to bide the time… like adding in a pot filler 😛 If the walls were already open and the plumber was already here, why not? Right?

We also got to the point where the farmhouse sink could be installed. One step closer to running water! We went through our options of an undermount single bowl sink like we had in our last house and loved, a stainless steel apron sink, and the white traditional apron sink. Surprise surprise we loved the most expensive one 😛 We ended up on the Shaws Original version because of it’s durability and look compared to others. After now using it for a few months, we’re so glad we splurged!

Things I’m learning about us waiting for other people to do things instead of doing them ourselves, time = too many project add ons ha!

It’s a great pop of interest in the row of cabinets, and I love that we kept it centered on the large window, giving us a little entertainment while we do the dishes 🙂

I know I’ve said it a million times, but the pantry cabinets where the kitchen built-in desk area used to be is one of the better decisions we made to update the space! We went with a black hardware knob/pull combo (more details to come soon!) and I LOVE how it looks against the white! It’s a little bit modern and different, but still blends with everything else we picked out for the kitchen.

And that’s where we end for today! FINALLY having our cabinets installed after delay after delay, and next up are the finishing touches – counters (holy hard decision!), backsplash and lighting! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel 🙂
