Nebraska Filled Dining Room

Did you know that it’s possible to blink, and have 6 months fly by just like that? I can’t believe that about that ago, we packed up Paige’s jeep and headed 11 hours and 750 miles across the Midwest to the great state of Nebraska so she could settle in for her new job! I had so much fun exploring her new neighborhood (and shopping!) with her, which happened to be the cutest old cobblestone town.

One amazing perk of where she lives is also the old salvage stores. I would be in serious trouble if I lived there – and by I , I mean my wallet 🙂

We also checked out some of the bigger stores that she would be working in, including Nebraska Furniture Mart. I was in major heart-eyes-mode the entire time. For a first timer, it was like an IKEA meets department store meets Best Buy meets Homegoods. Makes total sense, right? Except for it’s even better than IKEA, because all of those boxes? They load them into your car for you from a big warehouse while you feel all fancy sitting in your car. It’s the little things, right?

Luckily for me, we had an empty trailer that had to make the trek back to the mitten. Do you see where I’m going with this 🙂

I couldn’t let it go home completely empty, everyone knows that empty trailers hop around too much, so I ended up picking up a fun buffet and an old piece from a salvage store!

The centerpiece was actually used to make sugar cones, and came in a few different sizes. I love the simplicity of the white candles, and I’m sure it will be switched up with flowers and seasonal decor at some point 🙂

The buffet provides some much needed storage for our serving dishes, and helps fill out the huge room! We’re still working on filling all of our spaces after 2 1/2 years, but it’s well worth the wait to fill it with pieces like this, that have a fun memory attached to it!

Hopefully I’ll make it back to Nebraska soon to snap some shots of Paige’s cute apartment! We’ll see if we can get her to share some over on Instagram since it’s such a fun and colorful space!

Cheers to family, new adventures, and amazing shopping trips! I now also have the most amazing excuse to take a vacation that I fully plan on taking advantage of 🙂
