Time’s up! Pencil’s (paint brushes?) down! Happy One Room Challenge reveal day!
I’m so excited this day is finally here! It’s like Christmas morning in May! If you’re stopping by for the first time, we’ve been working on making over our choppy master bathroom for the last few weeks as a participant in the challenge hosted by Linda at Calling it Home, and we’ve finally made it to the last week. I’ll keep it short and sweet since pictures are the most fun part of this whole post, but we started out with a basic 70’s colonial master bathroom, where the vanity area was located in the bedroom, and the shower and toilet was in it’s room. Because both spaces were relatively small and we wanted a more cohesive look, we wanted to combine the spaces into one, and took advantage of every square inch of space we could!
Here are the lovely before’s:
Three different cave-like ceiling heights, two different floors and doors in all the wrong places. And here’s the initial design plan to fix that!
After weeks of demo, painting, installing, late-night staging sessions and far too many trips to Home Depot, our space is officially done 🙂
And that is officially a wrap! To find out how we got to this final spot, be sure to follow along with weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5!
And now I’m off to sleep for days (I wish!) right here while dreaming about those french doors 🙂
Hope you enjoyed our master bath tour and following along! We’re so happy that we have a finished space we can finally actually use (for the 1st time in 2 years!) and that our plan to make two choppy spaces feel like one fell into place. There were lots high-fives and a decent amount of words that may have four letters and are not child-friendly, but in the end, it was completely worth it!
Can’t wait to get started on this falls room and do it all over again!
Love this ORC makeover? This is number 4! Check out the first three below 🙂
I love the cabinets! It looks like such a relaxing space now! Great job!
Congratulations, it looks amazing!!
I love the way your bathroom turned out! It’s so pretty!
So glad I came back for the reveal! I just love how that french doors is leading right to that subway tile wall. Beautiful!
I love that rustic vanity and your light fixture. Beautiful bathroom!
Wow! My parents had one of those types of master bathrooms that was part of the bedroom. Love how you separated the spaces, but kept them unified. The wood tones and finishes are all gorgeous. Congrats on a job well done! Now go get some rest!
Hah, your original vanity picture reminds me of Young House Love from back in the day. Seriously have to give anyone that completes a master bathroom Reno in 6 weeks props. We’ve been DIYing our for the last 2-3 months and so far it’s not even fully demo’d yet!
Looks great and congrats on accomplishing your goal!
Great job! Those french doors are the icing on the cake!
What a beautiful transformation. Love the tile work behind the mirror and the vanity. Nicely done!
Stunning transformation! Great work!
Holy moly wow. You NAILED “industrial glam!” I LOVE the stain you chose for the cabinets and the subway tile to the ceiling!! Pinning now because I think a bathroom for the next ORC for me is a must! xx
You sisters have it in your genes – 1) great taste 2) exuberant talent! Wow! I love the cabinetry finish and all the little details you added to your space! Beautiful! Congrats and cheers to us for another room done!

Wow, amazing! That is one of the best updates I’ve seen to take boring oak cabinets into something beautiful-I love what you did!
That bathroom is gorgeous! Totally worth all the trips to Home Depot 🙂
What a crazy huge improvement! I cannot believe that is the same space. You two outdid yourselves. One of my faves for sure!
Congrats xx
Gorgeous! I agree–waaaay too many trips to Home Depot! But I think I recognise those sconces! I got mine at Lowe’s. Congrats on finishing the ORC!
Such a wonderful transformation. The french doors leading into the space definitely feel like you are walking into something wonderful. Great job. Amazing that all this was completed in such a short period of time.

My heart could explode this is SO beautiful! As usual you blow my mind! I’ll be calling you to design my next house! XOXO
I’m surprised how open + cohesive the space looks even when you weren’t able to remove the full wall between the vanity + toilet/shower room. Actually, it’s probably better that way so there’s a bit of privacy. Great job!
Found your site through favorite paint colors. Can you tell me the brand of shower doors you used and where you purchased them? Thanks!
Hi Pam! Thanks so much for stopping by! The shower doors are Delta brand and were purchased at Home Depot. They came in three parts: the desired size and finish of the frame, the different types of glass doors, and options for handles depending on finish and door style. Hope that helps! 🙂
